"Shakin' The Blues" is a testament to my home in Astoria, NY. With its rich history in film at Kaufman Studios, a piece was created paying homage to that local history.

"I've Got My Love..." is a testament to spreading some joy and love through community. It was so special to choreograph on some of my dearest dance friends and collaborate on filming with my friend, Sam Lobel. Enjoy this holiday celebration of jazz, swing, and joy! I am BEYOND GRATEFUL for dance and the community it brings. In 3-hrs I had the opportunity to set a lot of trial material on NYC friends I adore to help me be more prepared for my most recent choreographic venture, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma at Cornwell Dinner Theatre. Here is just the smallest snippet of what acted as my starting point for “The Farmer & The Cowman”. Dancer/Choreographer: Abigail Rebekah Videographer: Sam Lobel |

Rodgers + Hammerstien's Oklahoma! at Cornwell Dinner Theater was an amazing project working with a completely new team and cast of actors. What an amazing experience and such an amazing group of humans. Direction: Dexter Brightman Choreography: Abigail Rebekah Music Direction: Daniel Wells |
Through Troy Community Theatre, I have had the great opportunity to work with a lot of actors with little to no dance experience and in creative theater spaces. This has helped me grow in how to teach dance to non-dancers as well as how to create engaging movement applicable to the story while working around obstacles like being outside and having a concrete ground. Additionally, I have worked with many large casts averaging fifty or more people and emphasizing the need for full use of the ensemble. My choreography is based around story telling, character driven movement, and how those in the creative process can learn dance and movement essentials through the development of choreography. I pull a lot of my inspiration from choreographers such as Agnes DeMille, Twyla Tharp, Sonya Tayeh, Andy Blankenbeuhler, and more.

I am passionate about using dance to share the truth and honesty of life as we see it. I believe in authentic movement used to reveal the inner want to share my thoughts and mine as well as my colleagues stories. For these processes, as use a combination of improvisation developed into set choreography based on the impact of music.
